Longfellow ADU part of Minneapolis-St. Paul Home Tour

After the birth of their child, the homeowners quickly realized they wanted to expand their 1,100 square-foot home. After seeing other CSA-designed Accessory Dwelling Unit’s in their Longfellow neighborhood, they determined that a detached ADU was a great way for them to increase their living space while preserving the character of their Minneapolis bungalow. At 500 square-feet, the ADU gives them a spacious family room with a compact kitchen and a guest bedroom and bathroom which they utilize when their out-of-town parents come to stay. The living space is situated over a new 2-car garage, an asset for the long Minnesota winters, giving unique views across the neighborhood backyards.

The ADU was part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Home Tour on April 27-28th, 2019.
