Edina Rambler for Empty Nesters wins Home of the Month
Rambler Redo, a remodel by Christopher Strom Architects, was selected by AIA MN and Star Tribune for Home of the Month. This Edina project is the home of two empty nesters who wanted an updated space to reflect their new stage of life. Although the home owners considered moving, they ultimately decided to stay at the corner-lot location and remodel the existing home. The clients realized that certain elements of the existing home, such as the children’s bedroom, and the squeaky floor in the hallway, were too sentimental to remove. Therefore, the resulting home is a mix of the sentimental with new elements, such as a large kitchen, sun-filled spaces, and a mid-century modern exterior that blends seamlessly with the neighborhood.
