As the article explains, our client wanted to create a "version of community living, sharing resources while still maintaining independent living spaces" with her friend, who is also her next-door neighbor. The ADU allows for others - whether family or friends - to join their community life, sharing lawn equipment and garden vegetables. 

Regarding the bright yellow color, our client explains "I kind of think we all just need a little nugget of brightness or joy or hope."
