Sommerhus Cabin Featured in Lake Society Magazine
Sommerhus, our recent cabin project, was featured in Lake Society’s Summer 2021 issue. The article discusses the completed lakefront retreat and includes an interview with the homeowner.
When searching for a lakefront retreat, the homeowners fell in love with this land, which is located between shoreline and protected wetland. However, they didn’t love the then-existing cabin. Thus, they decided to build new. As the homeowner describes it in the article, “We visited Denmark […] in 2015, and while biking near Gilleleje, a fishing village on the Baltic Sea, we fell in love with the aesthetic of ‘Sommerhus’: dark exteriors, clean, simple lines, and lots of windows.“ We worked with clients to create a retreat which reminded them of this modern-yet-warm-aesthetic.
The article ends with the clients remarking, “We absolutely love our home, and each season on the lake is more special than the last.”
