Eye-Land in the Star Tribune!

Find Eye-Land on the front page of your Star Tribune Homes section! We are so grateful to have clients willing to "open up" their home to millions of Minnesotans (and beyond).

Eye-Land at White Oaks Savanna is a home built for a young, growing family. The modern farmhouse is nestled into the beautiful prairie landscape, located near Stillwater, Minnesota. Because of the home’s location in a wide-open landscape, there are no hidden sides to the home. Instead, we worked to animate every elevation while staying within the home’s budget. As the Star Tribune explained, we “relied on three ingredients: scale, color and proportion.”

The Star Tribune article discusses many aspects of the home, including the strategically-placed windows that highlight the ever-changing wetlands beyond. When reflecting on how the hall window frames an oak tree beyond, the homeowner stated, "We didn't ask for this, but we know that this was very intentional. [Christopher Strom Architects] thought of what this would look like through the changing seasons and maximized the beauty around us."

After being interviewed for the article, the homeowners stated, “It was a pleasure reflecting on the process with the Star Tribune – we kept saying how thankful we were to have had the opportunity to work with [Christopher Strom Architects].”

We are honored to receive our eighth Home of the Month award! We are the only Minnesota architecture firm to have won the award consecutively for the last six years.
