Pondside in MSP Home & Design Magazine
A new feature in MSP Home & Design Magazine highlights our Pondside project with an exclusive interview from architect Chris Strom.
Built by Chris Strom’s grandfather, and on the same pond where he spent his own childhood, the Pondside remodel offered a unique opportunity to modernize a home with deep personal connections. After 44 years in their home, the clients were ready for an upgrade that increased connection to the adjacent pond, and opened the floor plan to support their daily activities. ““We love the fresh, clean, light look and feel,” Bev says. “Our home now is larger and more open, giving us the ability to entertain with ease. But we also got the warmth and coziness we wanted.”
Plus, having Strom—the boy next door—in charge of the project made it even more meaningful for both the homeowners and the architect.
“It was wonderful to return to my roots,” Strom says. “Having grown up on the pond, it’s incredible to experience how the house now opens up to the water. It feels unique—and very special.””
