Star Tribune’s Home of the Month

This past year we celebrated two more Home of the Month features from the Star Tribune and AIA MN. Cypress & Bluestone was our 10th project to be featured in February 2025. The article details how our clients wanted to create a warm modern home near Lake Harriet with space for their many hobbies. ⁠Using clerestory windows and a bluestone fireplace, the home welcomes natural light while maintaining privacy.⁠

A few months later, Valdres had its turn to shine as the May 2025 Home of the Month.

Our client, an accomplished and well-traveled geologist, desired to make a sculptural statement within this wide-open landscape, referencing his interest in geologic precision and geometric refinement. He envisioned simple, pure lines defined by high-quality materials and a meticulous level of craft between adjoining surfaces. He desired the exterior to be both quiet and bold at the same time. The interior needed to be filled with natural light and plenty of neutral space to display his expanding art collection.

Artful Living Articles

Two issues of Artful Living Magazine highlighted CSA projects this year.

The Spring Issue featured the beautiful, architecture-driven community David Washburn and Bob Appert have created in Stillwater. White Oaks Savanna is a 200 acre development of restored prairie now home to 30 lots. We are thrilled to have designed the first home in the community, Eye Land, in 2018 (featured in the article) and to now have three completed homes and three currently under development.

In the Artful Living Autumn Issue, a beautiful spread showcasing our modern Tudor project, Elysian Fields, was featured.

The article focuses on the combination of two different desired styles in this project, with one home owner preferring a traditional look, and the other hoping for something more contemporary. With the team at O’Hara Interiors, we were able to create a stunning solution that shows you really can have your cake and eat it, too.
